Various programs are available in Cyprus for foreign citizens to obtain a residence permit and become residents.

Investment Program

The Cyprus Investment Program is one of the most popular ways to obtain residency status, ranking 9th in the world in 2023, ahead of countries like the UAE, USA, and Monaco. Unlike other investment programs, Cyprus grants permanent, not temporary, residency. The residence permit is issued for 10 years.

You can obtain permanent residency in Cyprus with an investment starting from 300,000 euros through the purchase of residential property, commercial real estate, shares in Cypriot companies, or private investment funds. This program offers several advantages, including no requirement for continuous residence in Cyprus and the future possibility of applying for Cypriot citizenship.

The Cypriot residence permit is also granted to the spouse and children.

Program for Financially Independent Foreigners (Visitor Visa)

The Visitor Visa in Cyprus, also known as the residence permit for financially independent individuals, requires sufficient savings and/or stable income from abroad, ensuring the ability to live on the island without the need for employment in Cyprus.

Applicants must demonstrate a minimum monthly income of €2,000 for the main applicant, plus an additional 20% for a spouse and 15% for each child.

The residence permit is issued for 1 year with the possibility of renewal. Besides the main applicant, the spouse and children can also obtain this status.

Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa Program

Remote workers and entrepreneurs can apply for the Digital Nomad Visa in Cyprus. Applicants must demonstrate that they work remotely for a company registered abroad or provide services to clients outside of Cyprus.

A stable and sufficient monthly net income of at least €3,500 for the main applicant is required, plus an additional 20% for a spouse and 15% for each child.

This new program allows remote workers to live in Cyprus for one year, with the possibility of extending for an additional two years. Applicants can also bring their spouses and children to Cyprus.

Program for Working in an International Company in Cyprus

If you secure employment with an international company in Cyprus, you can obtain a work visa for skilled employees. The main conditions include a minimum salary of €2,500 per month (before taxes) and the company must have permission to employ third-country nationals. The work visa for employees of international companies in Cyprus is issued for 2 years, with the possibility of extension. Additionally, family members of the applicant can obtain resident status and have the right to work in Cyprus.

Program for Entrepreneurs and Business Owners in Cyprus
